SZALONTAI KNIVES

Introduction

Wide range of high quality blade steels and handle materials are available for the customers to customize their hunting knife or pocket knife as desired. I fully guarantee my knives to perform perpectly as a cutting tool. All hunting knives, pocket knives are made from the finest materials and keep their quality for a lifetime. (Lifelong guarantee does not include the natural changes of wooden and bone handles as well as damages caused by not proper usage. The blade needs sharpening in time.)

Usability of hunting knives is determined by their shape and material as well. They are made of 3-4 mm thick stainless steels. The selection of steel for specific applications is based on the properties of the steel. N690 steel provides good edge retention, it is a good choice for blades that require heavier cutting applications. RWL-34 and damascene steels are the best available steels that have superior edge strength. They are attractive at the same time, especially with some unique hardwood or bone handle.

Pocket knives are inspired by traditional Hungarian design. They are made from the finest stainless steel materials, with wooden or bone handles.

Scrimshaw is a hand-etched artwork on bones and teeth.

Any of our hunting knives and pocket knives can be ordered with scrimshaw and customized with names and designs on request. They do not need special care, fine lines are filled during usage, and the pictures stand out from the white background material for a long time.

ORDER INFORMATION

Once you’ve placed an order, you will receive an order acknowledgement to confirm your order details, including shipping costs (12 EUR within the EU) and delivery times. The price of the hunting knives includes the leather sheath as well.

Materials

Carbon (C):
Present in all steels and is the principal hardening element. Also increases the strength of the steel. It raises tensile strength, hardness, resistance to wear.

Chromium (Cr):
Added for wear resistance, hardenability. It is chromium that makes the steel stainless. Chromium also improves the corrosion resistance.

Manganese (Mn):
Manganese aids the grain structure and contributes to hardenability. Improves the steel (e.g., deoxidizes) during the steel’s manufacturing.

Molybdenium (Mo):
Maintains the steel’s strength at high temperatures. It improves machinability and resistance to corrosion.

Silicon (Si):
One of the principal deoxidizer used in steel-making. Silicon enhances resistance to scaling.

Sulfur (S):
It improves machinability in small quantity.

Phosphorus (P):
In appreciable amounts, phosphorus increases the strength and hardness of hot rolled steel to about the same degree as carbon. Higher phosphorus content is specified for its beneficial effect on machinability.

Vanadium (V):
Refines the primary grain, increases wear resistance, greatly improves red hardness and diminishes overheating sensibility.

Cobalt (Co):
It intensifies the individual effects of other elements in steels and allows to achieve excellent wear-resistance
